Symbol of enduring life (55,56,57)

55
What lovely thing
Thy Hand hath made
The smooth plumed bird
It its emerald shade
The seed of grass
The speck of stone
Which the wayfarer ant
Stirs and moves on

56
A flame is not merely something
Which warms or burns but
A symbol of enduring life of household
An abiding source of nourishment
And shelter in which
Man returns from his casual wanderings
It is not a quick fork of fire
Which may sting or hurt
It is the hearth at which
One worships
And for which one fights

57
"I love Him" what else can I say?
It's a secret they'll say. How can that be?
"God knows I love Him and so does He"

Look inside (53,54)

53
All the world is a stage
And all the men and women merely players
They have their exits and enteries
And one man in his time plays many parts

54
Guru-disciple: Truth

Fetch me a fruit of a banyan tree
Here is one, sir
Break it
What do you see?
Very very tiny seeds sir
Break one
I have broken it sir
What do you see new
Nothing sir
My son, the guru said
"What you do not perceive, my son is the
essence of mighty banyan tree.
The mighty banyan tree exists believe
me, my son, in that essence is the
self of all that was
(This is how God, The Creator resides
within each human being. Look inside)

Keep faith with today (50,51,52)

50
Yesterday is no more
Tomorrow is not yet with us
But today is where I am
Today is where we live, love laugh
Cry, pray and share our all
Today makes our tomorrows
Keep faith with today

51
Life is short
And we have not much time
For gladdenings!
The lives of others
Who are traveling
The dark road with us
O be swift to love
Make haste to be kind

52
The point of journey is
Not to arrive
But to return home
Laden with pollen
You shall work up
Into honey
The mind feeds on!

The wonder that is life (47,48,49)

Diary entry by my father made on 8.6.2002

47
Grateful for another day to live
To love, survive
I find such simple pleasures
Just by walking in rain
For everyday that comes to me
Is never quite the same
Each moment is precious
Each breath I inward take
My heartbeat is passing time
The thoughts that I shall make
Mostly I take for granted
Such beauty every where
But suddenly I realize the wonder
I can share!

48
 Confidence like art
Never comes
From having the answers
It comes from
Being open to all questions

49
The tree
Fills with huge breath
Gets on with the work!

On acceptance and brotherly love (44,45)

Diary entry by my father made on 8.6.2002

44
One who is happy while working
One who is happy while resting
Is never afraid of anything
As he fully accepts the will of God
He is always under the protection
of The One and only One God
Who knows everything
He who goes to sleep, free from worry
And fear and anxiety
He who in his working hours is free
From fear, worry and anxiety
He knows that God pervades in His
Creation everywhere
One who is happy in his home
One who is happy in the outside world
He is the one who lives life by
The Gurus teachings

45
Let brotherly love continue
Be not forgetful
To entertain strangers
For thereby
Some have entertained
Angels unaware!

On sharing and being strong (42,43)

Diary entry by my father made on 7.6.2002

42
To add a place at table
Or share a bed
Or move your clothes a bit
This is sharing
To make room for another
43
My grandmothers were strong
They followed ploughs and bent to toil
They moved through fields sowing seeds
They touched Earth and grain grew
They were full of sturdiness and song
My grandmothers were strong
They spun cotton into thread
On the charkha
And made cloth to dress their children
My grandmothers were strong
They milked cows and buffaloes
And boiled the milk to
Make curd and then butter
And fed the family with
Milk, butter milk and butter
They loved their families
Yes my grandmothers were strong

You were made for a purpose (34,35,36,37)

Diary entry by my father made on 6.6.2002
34
The plough that cleaves the soil
Produces narture
He that bestirs his feet
Completes the journey

35
We have all the world in our hands
We have all the days in our hearts
This is the world tonight
The world has turned once
The world looks different

36
You cannot escape the purpose
That put you here on Earth
What purpose do we beings serve?
By living this life
Of pain and  joy
Filled with strife
For our daily bread

37
Grasp the opportunities as they come
Come to hand
Take lessons from nature
Each creature, flower and tree
Fulfills its purpose planned
You were also made for a purpose

Life means celebration (38,39,40,41)

Diary entry by my father made on 7.6.2002
38
When someone goes out into his work
He is alive like a tree in spring
He is living, not merely working
There is no point in work
Unless it absorbs you
Like an absorbing game
If it doesn't absorb you
If it is never fun, don't do it!

39
And your body is the harp of your soul
And it is yours to bring forth
Sweet music from it
Or confused sounds

40
For the fruit, giving is a need
As receiving is a need to the roots
For the seed the need is to strike root
In Earth and grow
To give food, fragrance and shade
To burst into flowers in all colours
Holding hands with thorns!

41
Life is reason enough; what more
you want. Life means celebration!

Peace of mind (31,32,33)

Diary entry by my father made on 6.6.2002
31
Everything doth pass away
There is danger in delay
Every grape of vine
Is gladly bruised to make me wine
Only bend thy knee
Thy wooing shall thy winning be

32
Then there is the peace of mind
At the closing of the day
That comes with easy conscience
That we have done the best we may
But the lasting kind of peace
Comes from deep within
It grows to win
A peace with life itself
That runs along life's way
It never lets you down
But grows from day to day

33
Let your old age be childlike
And your childhood like old age
that is, so that neither
May your wisdom be with pride nor
Your humility without wisdom

Become as you will be (28,29,30)

Diary entry by my father made on 6.6.2002
28
Become as you will be
Forget all that was
Stand alone yet be not apart
Give no offense yet be not defenseless
Acquire no more than you need
And you shall survive in plenty
Till twice tomorrow you shall wait
in silence. But deaf years of all
those who turned away shall once more
hear your voice

29
"Courage is destiny"
Question not, but live and labour
Till the goal is won
Helping every feeble neighbour
Seeking help from none
Life is mainly froth and bubble
Two things stand like stone
Kindness in another's trouble
Courage in your own

30
Count no day lost
In which you waited your turn
Took your share
And sought advantage of none

On what is most dear (25,26,27)

Diary entry by my father made on 6.6.2002
25
Nothing is to a man so dear
A woman's love in good measure
A good woman is man's blessing
Their love right and steadfast
There is no solace under heaven
Of all that man may name
That should a man do so much gladness
as a good woman that loveth true
No dearer is none in God's hand
Than a chaste woman with lovely word

26
You're the most you're the greatest
Love me when the night is latest
You love me I love you
Love in the morning dew
During the day during the night
In my book you're all right

27
More than I hoped to do, I do
And more than I deserve I got
What little I attend, I know
And it argues order more than not
The only correction is
By you, of you; by me, of me

Never hurry (23)

Diary entry by my father made on 6.6.2002
23
Never hurry and hasten in anything
Remember in the impetuosity of my youth
talking to a man advanced in years who
was planting oak trees. I said to
him very gently that the planting of oak
trees by a man advanced in years seems
to be rather imaginative.
The old man seized the point at once
and said to me "you feel that I shall
never enjoy the shade? I have the
imagination and I know what that
shade will be. I have laid my trees
in certain lines. I know that I cannot
expect more than to see them beyond
a shrub
but with me rests the conception of
the shade and the glory

Dreams and possibilities(20,21,22,23)

Diary entry by my father made on 6.6.2002
20
To visualize
Just what might be
And then attempt
To make it so;
To take a dream and to make it
For all to see
Or let the probabilities
Come for all to know

21
Let's love each other for what we are
And for what we happen to become
Not for what we can make of ourselves
No one makes anything of anyone -
But God.

22
I shall never be different
Love me

23
Give me a look, give me a face
That makes simplicity a grace
Robes loosely flowing hair as free
Such sweet neglect more taketh me
Then all the adulteries of art
They strike mine eyes but not my heart

Life is a mystery (17,18,19)

Diary entry by my father made on 3.6.2002

17
Grow old with me
The best is yet to be
The last of life for which the first was made
Our times are in His hands
Who saith "A whole I planned youth shows but half"
Trust God: see all, nor be afraid

18
Life is a mystery, everyone must stand alone
I hear you call my name
And it feels like home
O Lady! we receive but what we give
And in our life alone does nature live

19
A flower lifts its face to the sun
And opens up to warmth
It drinks in the flow of the rain
And grows as it stretches forth
The flower never looks behind
To the shadow it will cast
So we should always look ahead
And not dwell in the the time that past
